Biography:
Daniel Ketch is a Marvel Comics character best known as the second Ghost Rider. He debuted in Ghost Rider vol. 2, #1 in 1990.
Upon touching a bioengineered motorcycle, Ketch was transformed into the Ghost Rider, a Spirit of Vengeance tasked with punishing the wicked. This transformation was triggered when he and his sister, Barbara, were attacked by thugs.
Unlike Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider, Ketch's incarnation wielded a mystical chain and could summon his motorcycle from thin air. He also possessed the Penance Stare, an ability to inflict the pain of one's victims upon themselves.
It was later revealed that Ketch and Blaze were brothers, and that their ancestor had been bound to a Spirit of Vengeance. Danny wasn't initially tied to a demon but was, instead, linked to a fragment of the Angel Zadkiel's power. This origin was retconned in later stories to have Danny ultimately bound to a Spirit of Vengeance, as well.
Ketch continued as Ghost Rider, sometimes alongside his brother, battling supernatural threats. He eventually relinquished the Ghost Rider mantle and it was later recovered.
